Borusan

Middle Series Fire Plumbing Pipes:

Our standard stock products include:

  • Red Primed Painted Plain Ended, ranging from ½” to 6”,
  • Red Primed Painted Grooved, available from 2 ½” to 6”,
  • Black Plain Ended, offered in sizes between ½” and 6”.

Galvanized Water Pipes:

Our standard stock products include:

  • Threaded Sleeve for sizes from ½” to 6”,
  • Plain Ended from ½” to 6”,
  • Grooved for sizes 4” and 6”.
  • Our middle series pipes are of PN25 class and undergo a minimum 50-bar test.

SRM Plumbing Pipes are annealed at 900°C to normalize their entire structure. They are burr-free, suitable for bending and shaping, and exhibit high corrosion resistance.

ERW Water Pipes:

  • Groove Opening (3/4” - 12”)
  • Compliant with Victaulic standards.
  • Our products are FM certified and can be used in fire installations.
  • Our galvanized pipes are NSF certified and can be used in drinking water installations.
  • Our Middle Series pipes can be used for water up to 25 bar operating pressure.
  • Every pipe undergoes a leak test under 50 bar pressure and non-destructive testing with eddy currents (E/C).

BORUSAN SRM

Outstanding Features of Borusan SRM Black Plumbing Pipes:

  • Easy to process: Saves time and shapes easily without crushing or deforming.
  • Corrosion-resistant: Thanks to its homogeneous structure, it is much more resistant to corrosion than standard plumbing pipes and has a longer lifespan.
  • Non-lime-catching inner surface: The welding seam is perfect, and the burr-free welding spot prevents lime buildup on the inner surface.
  • Europe’s choice: Borusan SRM has been exported to European countries for years due to its high standards.
  • Provides excellent results in heating installations.

Corrosion-Resistant, Non-Lime-Catching Inner Surface:

  • The welding area of standard pipes on the market heats up during production and cools rapidly. This process results in a different structure and hardness in the welding area compared to the primary material structure. When the welding area is observed, two different structures are seen: a thin white ferritic line called the “weld line,” and two different structures in the heat-affected area (Figure 1). The ferritic structure of the weld line and the fine-grained perlite structure in the heat-affected area form anode (+) and cathode (-), leading to electrochemical corrosion (thickness loss, corrosion, or puncture). Borusan SRM, on the other hand, undergoes additional heat treatment after the welding process during production. Heating the entire pipe to a minimum of 900°C (normalization temperature) eliminates structural differences (Figure 2). Therefore, electrochemical corrosion resistance is significantly increased.

Easy Processing Feature:

  • The production of standard plumbing pipes available on the market is carried out by curving a straight strip into a pipe through cold forming and joining the edges by heating and pressing.
  • As the amount of cold forming increases, the material becomes harder and the yield strength rises. However, the tensile strength of the material does not increase as much as the yield strength, making shaping the pipe more challenging.
  • As a result of the heat treatment (thermal process) of the entire pipe to 900°C after the welding process, Burusan SRM pipes:
  • Eliminate stress on the pipe and achieve a soft structure.
  • The difference in hardness in the welding area is eliminated. All these features provide Burusan SRM with a superior feature of easy shaping.
